31 January 2012

BRRR!  It was cold here today!  -9 degrees C!  Have I mentioned that I really don't like cold?  BRRRR!

Ok, enough complaining.  Today is "hand-in-the-paperwork-at-the-visa-office" day.  Tom is there as I write.  We are praying for favor and that we can get the other visa we are wanting to switch to.  It is called a Cultural Visa.  Pray, please!

Here are few pictures of life around here lately:

Nate has a cold and so fell asleep on the floor in our room like this!

He is still stuffy today, slept (mostly) through the night last night!  Thanks Nyquil!

Today Nate and I were playing and taking pictures.  I just cut my hair again...it was almost to my shoulders and heavy...anyway...here are two of our favorites!

Tomorrow starts the new semester at CISP and that means Matt's last semester of high school!  Time is flying!  Hope you enjoy the day and keep warm!

inside out and backwards

head down
focus on poor mirror, in.
see limitations
what I wish I was.
sad, self-loathing
evil

head down
bowed in repentance
see human limits
see Christ's power in my limitations
glory in infirmities
no complaint
no pity
Jesus

head up
He made me
my limitations/infirmities are gifts/strength
i offer my gifts as a sacrifice
thanksgiving

vacation

We just enjoyed our family vacation of the year in Austria/Germany! What a lovely place we get to stay in the Austrian Alps! We left on the 26th and arrived back home on the 3rd. We enjoyed time snowboarding/skiing/sledding...
Hannah snowboarding for the first time!

Nathanael learning to ski
baking Christmas cookies together....

playing games, sewing and doing puzzles....

Enjoying the last day of 2011 together, including our traditional ice cream and toppings meal and the showing of "The Great Muppet Caper"...
Nate and Tom worked for hours to make these fabulous snow forts.  Check out the still-falling snow!

toppings plus some healthy additions including some meats and cheeses.

One happy 5 year old!

After opening our New Years "poppers"!

Hannah, Amy and Matt in the snow turned to rain and their snowman named something creative that Hannah named it.
A great trip to a vogelpark (bird park) in Austria New Years morning.  It was really slushy out there as it was warming up.  We all had wet feet at the end of this trip, but had enjoyed a beautiful walk together.
