We are starting our home school year this morning. After a fun weekend of shopping for school supplies, sharing in a church, enjoying the church picnic afterwards and then watching a Vintage Baseball game, we returned home tired, sick and yet happy we could do all those things.
A, M, H, N, T and I all have coughs and some weird achy flu-like, cold-like thing that has hung for weeks. No fevers so not sure if we need to see a dr. or not. Hmmm. Could use prayers for health.
Rachel and I enjoyed the quieter morning together to talk and enjoy our breakfast on the porch. We had fresh pineapple pieces and whole wheat pecan cinnamon rolls. After walking R to the bus stop, I had a few minutes to write this blog update.
Now, N is up and pushing his way on to my lap and demanding attention, so I guess this will be it.
I am praying for a good start to school with my junior in high school and 8th grader!

sickness
"Mom, mom come here!" I was awakened last night 4 times by that cry from Nathanael's mouth. He, along with all the others, is running a temp. and generally feeling lousy. In fact, he is taking a morning nap, his request, while I update this to ask for prayer. The flu that they have warned about for 2 weeks is finally here!
Tom is on his way to England for a conference and plans to return next Monday evening. So, here I am alone at home with 5 sick kids. Don't feel too sorry for me, though as this allows time for extra rest for me and time to read and quilt with the kids.
Please pray for healing for all and that I could stay healthy and get the sleep I need. That involves getting to bed at a good time and self-discipline. I can get so much done after they are in bed!
Thanks to our brothers and sisters in Christ who have offered to loan me a car if I need it for shopping or taking kids to the dr. or whatever else I might need. That is a great encouragement!
I hope to update later this week how things are going around here.
