Saturday at home

I know that doesn't say much to a lot of people, but to me it says a ton! I am home and able to blog on a Saturday morning, and in my pj's to boot!

Tom and Matt and Berankovi arrived safely in eastern Slovakia last night around 12:30. They left a bit later than planned as Jana's dad was taken (again) to the hospital just an hour before they were to leave. They went anyway as he has been taken in and given days/hours to live for months now and he isn't in the ICU. We definitely feel that this is another spiritual attack against us and the Roma ministry. Today at 9:30 they were to be helping with some construction at the church; lunch together; kids club in the afternoon and Roma church service at night. Tomorrow Tom preaches in a Slovak church speaking Czech and then they leave to drive home. This trip is about a 10 hour drive. Pray for travel mercies and that God would be glorified in this missions trip.

I am enjoying being home with Amy, Rachel and Nathanael. Hannah is at a youth retreat weekend. I will drive to pick her up in Prague tomorrow. Rachel and Nate are out playing in the yard. Amy is laying upstairs in her room, in pain.

Amy was diagnosed with infectious mononeucliosis on Thursday and has a terrible looking throat from strep on top of the mono. She is on bed rest until the white spots in her throat clear, then we will see the pediatrician in town and determine what else needs to happen. Pray that she would be able to hear from God during this time, be encouraged and heal well. If you would like to write her for encouragement, you may do so at my e-mail address: dora.becker@efca.org.

So, today is the wash the lace curtains, windows and general cleaning day around here. I am looking forward to more time in the Word than usual.

Pray as we seek God's will in our lives and ministry. Our children's travel to Prague for school is long and tough and we are looking at possibly moving closer for them, but want to follow God's lead in ministry as well. Pray that we wouldn't just decide for comfort, but truly hear from God and follow His perfect lead. Hannah wants to join Amy and Matt at school in Prague next year as she starts junior high and would really like more friends who encourage her in her walk with God. Being part of a church planting team means a small group of believers, which, in our case, means no youth group as our kids are the youth group. They truly need encouragment from others as they grow.

Jesus peace. Remember my word for the year? Peace.

Clinging to the promise that "I am with you always."
