vacation

Wow! Spring finally arrived here. The tulips are up a full 5 inches already! The Easter lily grew at least 3 inches yesterday. So, why are we leaving the warming temperatures and sun? Because we haven't been on vacation in about a year, except with family for a few days when they came.

We are off for Italy on Sunday morning. The drive is about 10 1/2 hours to Florence area where we will stay, however we are breaking it in two days as the second day of the trip heading south is through the Alps and we wanted to be able to see them, stop for breaks and see the view. That, and the fact that 3 of our kids get really car sick and we want to be able to take it easy and not risk getting sick in the car.

This weekend is our organizations time for getting together for encouragement and prayer. We head out tonight for that. Saturday afternoon, Klub Rachel is having a kids activity where the kids do something fancy with fruit and veggies and serve their parents. Tom has the opportunity to share about upcoming trips to Slovakia to have club with the Roma there, as well as talk about them coming here! Parents are excited and asking all about it. Pray that God would move and these families would see God use them. No, they aren't Christian, but they are being used of God all the same.

So, off to Italy with a return planned for Saturday night next week so we can join with our local church body for Easter Sunday. Easter Monday is another blog post...having to do with switching of s and getting Easter eggs and/or candy.

Also, please pray for one of my English students. She drove me home after class last week and talked a good 15-20 minutes about Christianity, faith and her life. She is enrolled to come to English camp this summer, too! Pray that she would learn to know and love Jesus.
